SAMUEL DAVID PERLI

Dissecting & Engineering Biology

I am an AI+Bio pioneer. As Chief Scientific Officer and founding member of Thinkhat, I develop next generation technologies for addressing human disease. I was formerly a postdoctoral fellow and worked with Prof. Shinya Yamanaka at Gladstone Institutes and UCSF on developing computational and molecular tools for dissecting and engineering Biology as well as developing next generation applications of pluripotent stem cells. I have previously worked with Prof. Timothy Lu @ MIT, where I obtained my PhD. Prior to that, I earned a MS in Computer Science from MIT working with Prof. Dina Katabi as a Presidential Fellow. I finished my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering @ IIT Madras and was awarded the Institute medal for best academic record in the department. I enjoy playing the guitar, outdoors and cooking. I also teach at Hue.

Having been extensively trained as a Computer Scientist and a Molecular Biologist, I aspire to integrate computational and molecular approaches towards building tools for dissecting and engineering biological systems
