SAMUEL DAVID PERLI
Dissecting & Engineering Biology
I am a postdoctoral fellow working with Prof. Shinya Yamanaka at Gladstone Institutes and UCSF on developing computational and molecular tools for dissecting and engineering Biology as well as developing next generation applications of pluripotent stem cells. I have previously worked with Prof. Timothy Lu @ MIT, where I obtained my PhD. Prior to that, I earned a MS in Computer Science from MIT working with Prof. Dina Katabi as a Presidential Fellow. I finished my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering @ IIT Madras and was awarded an Institute medal for the best academic record in the department.
All of Biology is dictated by the fundamentally digital information encoded within nucleic acids. Having been extensively trained as a Computer Scientist and a Molecular Biologist, I aspire to integrate computational and molecular approaches towards building tools for dissecting and engineering biological systems
